Girlfriend has pains in her womby area?

I had pains up until about 12 weeks and also had a bit of spotting at 7 weeks and everything turned out well. The midwife said it was very common and normal but that doesn't make it any less worrying when you are going through it.

    Disolvable Stitches FAQ.

I was told mine were dissolvable but they actually worked their way out instead. When Jessica was signed off by the midwife at 10 days I was a bit concerned as I had a length of thread dangling and the rest of it was still sewn into me! Apparently, this is quite normal too according to...

    Raspberry Leaf Tea Question?!?!

You get the best result if you start slowly and build up from about 32 weeks. I bought some tablets but kept forgetting them and eventually started at about 38 weeks. Jessica was 10 days late but as she turned back to back I had a forceps delivery so it was a fairly pointless exercise for me...

    4 kids - what car??

Kids will be fine in the back of a Zafira. My mum has one (well she has had several now as well as a few other people carriers as I am the eldest of 6 children). She has put Jack (the youngest at 11 months) in his baby seat in one of the back seats as it is easier when doing the school run for...

Recovery from episiotomy and 2nd degree tear

I had an episiotomy and like you the pain got worse a couple of days after rather than being horrendous to start with. I was walking around sore but okay the day I had her but on day 3 it hurt to stand let alone anything else. Lavender oil in the bath helped loads - before Jessica had to go...

    Let down

Jessica isn't nosey but I think the let down shocks her as it really does pour out. She normally comes off choking and milk sprays everywhere (it has hit Neil when I have been feeding her in bed! ) and it hurts for a little while and then we both settle down and the rest of the feed was...

cracked lips on baby when breastfeeding?

Jessica had this too - the dry lips aren't so bad now but she still gets a blister on her top lip every so often. The midwife said it was a milk blister and because she was feeding so well (by which she meant every hour!) For her dry lips they recommended vaseline but when we we went back into...

    Rip or Cut

Not necessarily - Jessica's heart rate started to become a worry and they decided they needed to get her out there and then so they just got the scissors out - not time for any type of anaesthetic!

    Maternity notes

They keep them. They also keep your and the baby's postnatal notes when you are signed off by the midwife at around day 10. I was most upset when I discovered this!

need help with my maternity notes!

My midwife filled mine in too - and they were green? :? As has been said it is the number of pregnancies - mine was 0+0.

Is it possible to mix BF and Bottle?

According to the books FF babies are meant to get more/worse colic and wind but Jessica really suffers with wind and has only ever been breast fed so I personally think it's one of those things. My brothers and sisters were all breast fed and only two of them (there are 6 of us) had really bad...

    Rip or Cut

Just to add to my earlier comment, I had an episiotomy as I ended up having a forceps delivery. It was actually done without any anaesthetic but I can actually only remember the sound of the scissors rather than any pain. The obstetrician just wanted her out as quickly as possible as things...

    Rip or Cut

I agree. I had a few small tears and grazes and I'm sure they hurt more when healing!
