    Paternity leave

My OH is self employed so if he's not working, he's not earning! We can't manage without his money coming in, although I'm hoping he'll perhaps take on a little less work when the time comes. It's impossible to plan ahead with his work, it's why we haven't had a holiday for years :wall2:

Feel bad about time off work and worried I'll get into trouble...

Legally, you can't be discriminated against for being pregnant - that includes having any time off for sickness as a reason for disciplinary action. You are also legally entitled to paid time off to attend any appointments relating to your pregnancy, so they can't say anything to you about that...

    Essential hypertension

It does sound a little on the high side, but it's the bottom figure they worry about most, I was told that as long as that's less than 100 then they won't intervene. The highest mine got to before being medicated was 196/117. I think as long as you're being monitored well (and it sounds like...

    Off road pram?

I've got the mamas and papas 03 sport, it's great off road and would be fine for a newborn with a car seat http://www.mamasandpapas.com/product-03-sport-pushchair-blackred/1002f3000/type-i/ It does say suitable for newborn but I think the seat is too wide and shallow for a new baby without the...

Is there anyone who regrets moving baby to own room too early?

We moved LO when he was 10 weeks old and he definitely started sleeping more soundly because when he was with us we were disturbing his sleep. So no, I don't regret it. The monitor allowed me to check on him whenever I wanted and I was still able to tend to him straight away when he needed me.

    my poor baby :(

Poor poppet :( They can get pain before the teeth actually appear, so it could be that. I take it he doesn't have reflux or anything?

    what to do?

I think you've just got to bite the bullet and tell them hon! They might flip, but ultimately you're carrying their grandchild, so I'm sure they will come round. As for the dad not being able to see you, surely that's his decision!

    Teething

We tried everything but what helped the most was a clean flannel, soaked in cold water and left in the fridge to cool. LO loved getting his gums around that, you should give it a go :)

    ADHD or autism?

I wouldn't worry too much, not being able to communicate your wants and needs must be very frustrating - might explain the temper? My son is 2 next month and although he tries his best he can't form full words yet, although he understands everything I say. Every child develops at their own...

    What time is bedtime??

You will produce as much milk as your baby needs, don't worry - when your breasts settle, they don't 'feel' full, so even if you think here isn't any, baby will still get what they need :)

    First kicks/movement?

I was about 17 weeks last time, it depends on the position of your placenta etc. I'm told you feel it sooner with your second which I'm hoping is right, I cant wait to feel those flutters :)

    What would you do if....

I've slept on it and changed my mind again lol! I figured no-one is actually going to go and check what it means, and according to Wikipedia, it's derived from 'beautiful' or 'armour', both of which are fine by me!

    What would you do if....

I think it's put me off :( shame really, I like the name! I think if it weren't for so many people asking me what my sons name means then I wouldn't be so bothered. It's one thing saying your sons name means 'strong in battle' and then explaining that your daughters means 'unlucky', I'd worry...
