looking at weaning and really don't know where to start, help please!

I just want to point out, nicely, some incorrect information here. 1) it is incorrect to say that babies aren't ready if they spit the food out and they can choke if you wait until 6 months. I am seriously shocked at a doctor saying this! Early weaning actually teaches a baby to swallow before...

looking at weaning and really don't know where to start, help please!

The things you've mentioned don't even whisper 'ready to wean' to me let only say it. She is so young! DS was a big baby, always watched us eat, had great head control from birth, never slept through, had big milk feeds, woke early etc but I wouldn't have considered weaning earlier than 6 months...

    Screaming during labour...

I never screamed in labour with either children. IMHO it's a waste of energy that I could be channeling to help in practical ways. That said, if you feel you want/need to do it you should go right ahead.

Keeping cats away from baby stuff

Our cat couldn't have been less interested in the baby stuff or the baby! If he had been interested though we probably would have bought the cat nets.

For those mummies with fussy toddlers

The nibble tray has been great! DS loves it! He was eating olives the other day! I was amazed as previously he'd just have screamed and thrown them! When the food is presented differently to how he expects he's more likely to try everything.

Does baby need a bouncer/swing straight away?

We didn't have a bouncer or a swing at all. They're just unnecessary in my eyes.

    What will you do differently

If I ever have any more babies I would like to have a home birth (planned one last time but ended up going to hospital), breast feed and have a 'babymoon' period.
