    single mum

Thank you ladies! Your stories and advice cheered me up (and made me cry). It's good to be back on the forum. Yes, I'm headed back to Australia on the 11th of November. My boyfriend tried to explain to me why he wants to come over for the birth. He says he loves me and wants to help me and...

    single mum

Hi everyone... I haven't written for quite a while. I was 14 weeks pregnant and just had my dating scan when my boyfriend told me "I really don't want to be a dad"... Not that this was any great surprise as you kind of pick up on these vibes. Anyway, I'm heading back to Australia to be a single...

    Anyone else constantly thirsty?

Sam & Alice I'm with you. Anything in my mouth makes me gag, and water has a funny taste. I'm struggling to drink as much as I need to and vomiting once or twice every day doesn't help!

What were you like as a baby?

My mother had terrible morning sickness with me lasting most of the pregnancy. She had nightmares about my birth for months after I was born, even though she'd given birth twice before. I had my umbilical cord wrapped around my neck so I was "like a bruised plum" as the midwife described me and...

    tummy bug

:rotfl: Yes, I think my tummy bug is rather cute, and what, when, Howe? is funny too. Are there any other nick named beans out there?

    tummy bug

I think that's what I'm going to call the baby... at least for now :rotfl: . I've got something growing inside me that makes me constantly nauseous and vomit every day. Sounds just like some kind of food poisoning bacterial tummy bug doesn't it?

    God I feel rough!

I find that almost nothing helps at the moment! I feel ill all day every day and have an average vomit rate of about two spews a day. All kinds of food and drink make me want to puke (yes, including water, mints and ginger!). But I just force myself to keep nibbling and sipping as hunger and...

Did anyone get their period in 1st tri? worried here!

Hi, I did have a day of bleeding when my first period was due. (It was a relief for me at the time, as I wasn't planning on getting pregnant!) But it stopped within 24 hours. A friend of mine had 2 or 3 full periods with her first baby and all was fine. I really hope you're alright.

    Dreams..

I'm glad to hear all of this, as I thought all my messed-up dreams were a reflection of my currently-quite-messed-up life. Your lives can't all be in complete shambles  , so maybe it's just a pregnant thing. That's a relief.

    bleurgh!

Thanks everyone. I'm all teary again, but this time because people have been nice and forgiven me. I'll remember to put a :rotfl: next time I make a joke. It was a bad joke anyway. Don't worry, I work with school kids in York and from what I've seen of the quality of education here I think it's...

    bleurgh!

keelie_b says >not all pregnancys are the same and some struggle more than other so can we be more supportive and not shoot others down for this... Alright, now it's my turn to be offended. I'd like you to imagine for a second that you were just as pregnant and sick and hormonal with your first...

    bleurgh!

It's got nothing to do with accents. It has more to do with poorly being an adverb and not an adjective, but hey, it was meant to be a joke. I didn't bother quoting you directly because it was meant to be a lighthearted crack and nothing more. It's like if I started a post with "Strewth I feel...

    bleurgh!

Right, let me be an Australian snob for starters... It's not bloody hot!!! The past few days have been the first time I've felt like England is capable of doing anything like a normal temperature and it's been FANBLOODYTASTIC! I even went walking on the North York Moors and found a little creek...

    First Scan - HURRAH!!!!!!!!!

Hi, yep I've seen a midwife and she said I would get something in the mail and then I have to ring up and book my first scan. I'm a bit confused about what's actually coming in the mail, but I keep checking anyway... nothing yet. As for my symptoms... :puke: and lots of it. I feel dreadful...

    First Scan - HURRAH!!!!!!!!!

Hi there, Congratulations on booking your first scan. I just wanted to say hi because I noticed that we seem to be due on the same day. I haven't booked a scan yet but am very much looking forward to it. I can't wait to get passed the 12 weeks, even though mine is an unplanned pregnancy and I...

    so what do you want?

Maybe a girl... but yeah, a healthy baby would definitely be on my mind before wanting to know the sex.

    Vomiting in the streets...

Hi everyone :puke: Has anyone else started looking at every nature strip, public garden and open drain in their home town as potential vomiting sites? Has anyone looked hopelessly around for somewhere to puke before letting rip in front of a street full of strangers  ? Is anyone else...

    feeling weak

Yeah, I'm only working 5 hours a day at the moment, but even that is a struggle. I just spend the rest of the time feeling sick and headachey and completely zonked. I want to get a bit of light exercise in at the gym a few times a week, but at the moment I'm only managing about once a week...

    Thank goodness for mums

I just spoke to my mum in Australia. It's the first time I've spoken to her since finding out that I was pregnant. She was so supportive and sympathetic. She was able to tell me about things that went wrong in her three pregnancies and gave me some bits of useful advice. We shared some news and...

sick, tired and trying to stay positive

Thank you so much. I just had a chat with my mum on the phone. It's the first time I've spoken to her since finding out that I was pregnant and it made me feel much better. I think my boyfriend will come around eventually too.
