    Babyfood and childcare

I went to visit the nursery we're going to be using yesterday. It's one for hospital staff, not a cheap one it's very well run. They don't let you bring your own babyfood it comes pre-cooked in a tray the same as hospital food does!! Lewis only has home cooked food and finger food he's too...

    Back to work meeting

I had the same meeting today, I just asked whether I'd get set days which I will. I forgot to ask about expressing breast milk but I think I'll mention it closer to the time, they'll love it because the only quiet place to do it will possibly be matrons office hehe

    What time is bedtime??

Lewis used to go to bed around 11-12, it's only this last month or so he's gradually brought it down to around 9pm on his own. I don't think it's important to change their routines early on unless they're too ridiculous. I quite enjoyed the lay ins during the school holidays too!

    School Uniforms

My 10yr old started a new school in March, got his jumper out the drier today and it's split down the seam from the bottom all the way to the elbow. I asked him how it happened and he doesn't know, I think he would remember anyone pulling it he loves telling me how naughty people are. Would...

    Anyone else affected?

We've got Olympics signs everywhere, and they've built the SnoozeBox on the local forest, they make it look small but it's the size of about 4 football pitches on green belt land I'm not happy about it. There's been military police in Romford lately too. I am looking forward to the Olympics...

    Baths

I'd say lean him over so he can touch the water, maybe even the tap/shower while it's going in Lewis likes this, then put him feet first, or let him have a couple of baths with you (they love it it's so sweet), and failing that maybe fill it up with him in it like others have said, you'll be...

    Rocking

I think it's a comfort thing same as some kids bump their heads into the pillow it just feels good to them for some reason.

    Don't know what to

Maybe give it a bit longer you might start to get on with people there and it won't seem so boring if there's people to have a laugh and take your mind off things. There's nothing worse than being told to look busy for busy's sake, feels like a waste of energy.

    More bf questions...

I'd bring breast pads just in case but don't buy too many because I personally have never had to use them with this baby, but with my first son even 10 wouldn't have stopped the flow. I don't sleep in a bra either so lucky I didn't buy one in advance, I know a lot of people would leak all over...

Being a woman and a mum means tough choices

I think go to the interview and see what happens but I agree with what you said there's every chance you'll get a similar interview further down the line. I'm going back just before LO is 8 months only part time mind you, sod what everyone else says bills have to be paid.

LO doesn't like being put down!

When I give him his last feed for the night I wrap the blanket around him making sure a portion of it is behind his head so when his head touches the bed it's the same temperature/material etc. I think for the first week or 2 it's normal for a breastfed baby to be pretty much stuck to you it's...

    Housing

I was on the housing list 6 years in a 1 bedroom flat with LO, now moved and been on it 3 years here but I now rent 2 bed house 775 a month. You need to go to the Turn2Us website and see how much you're entitled to.

    Dummies

We only use it when he wants to go to sleep or in his car seat/pushchair when he has a bit of a moan. He originally got one in NICU as you can imagine he was left on his own for long periods and needed it for comfort. I never used one with my 1st son, it's so much easier to get this baby to...

    When wearing baby.....

I just use a normal bag with a long strap when using my moby. My ring sling comes with a pocket you could fit a nappy and a few wipes in a nappy sack in as well as keys etc.

    Sippy cups?

We've got the free flowing TT one. He does bash it about a bit but it's not like it spills that much.

    Anyone up?

Oh well I completely overslept got up at 8.15 to get my son ready for school by 8.30 including making lunch and getting uniform ironed. Mission accomplished but it meant Lewis only got toast for breakfast :/ I can't remember what age I stopped with a monitor with Charlie I was living in a 1 bed...
