Black and white flashy thing in the corner of the TV

Is it just me, or has this just started to appear on tele again?
You know the little icon in the top right hand corner of the screen that lets you know when an advert break is coming up?
I don't remember seeing it for YEARS, and now, it seems to be on all of the programmes I watch!

Am I loosing it, or has it just come back?

it depends what ratio the programme is being broadcast in (and the screen size that you're watching in) as to whether you see it or not.

its a cue to the transmitters (the blokes in a room with no windows and lots of programme tapes) that there is an ad break coming up.
