Baby Weight Gain?

Had my first health visitor visit today, and she weighed Jadon. He's put on 9oz in 10days! Can't believe it!

He was 6.8lbs when leaving hosp, and is now 7.01lbs, I'm really shocked.

Just wondered what's classed as normal weight gain, the health visitor seemed really pleased with this gain.

How much did your little ones gain by their first visit?

1st one went from 7.1 to 7.8 at first weigh in, but harrison lost 5 oz first time.

babies usually lose a bit of weight in the first few days but should not lose more than 10%. They should make this up in the first week and definately by the first 10days.

so... if at a week he was only the same weight as he was when he was born that would be good if he has actually gained weight by 7-10 days that is REALLY good.
