Lily and I spent a lovely day yesterday with my sister and her one year old little boy, Freddie, shopping and having lunch. But she called me up this morning to say she is pretty certain that he has chicken pox.

So do I assume Lily has it too? I know it is majorly contageous... Should we avoid mixing with my sister and Freddie on Christmas Day? :( And should I avoid meeting up with other babies while I'm unsure about Lily?

Such a bad time for this to happen... would appreciate any advice.

Once spots start to scab over is when a person is no longer contagious. You'll only know if she has it when spots start to appear.

TBH better she gets it when smaller than older I reckon. Less able to scratch and cause scarring etc. And its not as bad in babies as older children iirc.

Have a read of this NHS pages here
