Well I thought I'd just head into M&S and get measured for a bra today. My normal ones had got a bit uncomfortable and I am definitely more endowed that I was pre-pregnancy.

It turns out I have gone from a 34B to a 38C  I was expecting to go up a couple of cup sizes but why have I gone up so much in inches? I really am putting on weight everywhere and its horrible! The measurer lady said it was normal but I'm not convinced :x

Also maternity bras = ugly! I also bought a couple of t-shirt bras also non wired. I really miss my underwired bras. I refuse to wear white bras and the ones in black were very limited in choice.

On the plus side, I do feel more comfortable even though I feel like I'm wearing old lady bras :( Has anyone else changed bra size by much?

I've gone from 34B to 38B....I'd have liked to go up a cup-size but I seem to have just expanded my whole chest.

Well they grew but now I think they are shrinking a bit!!! Havent got a mat bra yet. They are so expensive! Could you wear a sports bra instead they look the same? [/img]

Oh that makes me feel better, I really thought it was just me and that the lady at M&S was trying to make me feel better by saying it is normal. Perhaps our rib cages are expanding to accommodate bubs :D

nicki, mine were £14 each at M&S but like I said they were very ugly. I think you can wear any bra as long as they aren't underwired :(

Also the lady said I should come back about two weeks before the birth to get fitted for my nursing bras. What are these nursing bras? Are they ones with a top release for breastfeeding? I can't believe I am going to be spending even more on bras

I was a 36D before pregnancy, slowly going up and just got measured at the weekend and now expanded to 40D  I nearly cried when the woman said it as only half way through so going to grow even more- didn;t realise my back would grow so quickly!

lol iv matalan r pretty good for great big bras, started off at 36dd, and now 38f and theyre getin a bit, fall outty :( and im only bloody 17 weeks, but then again maybe i wasnt wearing the right size to strt with !?!? Anyways . . . . . i think maternity bras are uglyyy but looking online theyre all like £40 odd for a pretty one so il stick to my ugly matalan ones for now i think :)

awww its normal hun, not back fat  your rib cage expands hence the need for a bigger size

I didn't get measured for a maternity bra until 32 weeks - the lady who measured me in Marks and Spencer was horrified and kept saying 'I cant believe you are still wearing a wire'. I didn't know any different! I went from 34A to 34C. I then went back at 38 weeks for a nursing bra and left with 4 bras in 2 different sizes because they didn't know what size I'd be when the milk arrived - this cost me £50!!! She sent me away with a D cup and a C cup. I'm wearing the larger size at the moment and keep meaning to take the smaller size back!

LOL maternity bras are the most ugly things I've ever seen!! :rotfl: I hate them  BUT, woo hoo on your big boobies lol!

I'm going to make the most of mine, if I take after my Mum, Evie will suck them to zilch :(

Put it this way, she had a boob job last year  xx

i went from a 36D to a 40D..... so think i am just expanding, although the cups look like they are fit for transporting a couple of blooming watermelons!!!! agreeed about maternity bras, they are all sooooo high cut aswell, not the usual plung style i go for, and what with ALL maternity tops being so high cut,,,, us mummys2b still like to flash a little boob still! i cant find any lower cut maternity tops :( :( :( i feel like an old frump at the moment!

M and S here are rubbish at measuring - the bras they told me fitted didn't in the slightest - they were far too big round me and rid up at the back but they insisted. They didn't have a smaller back size and all they wanted was a sale , which is disgusting. So it's possible they have given you the wrong size.

That said, I gave up on maternity bras ages ago - I would buy one, it would fit for a month at the most but then it would be too small :wall: :wall: Actually I bought sports bras as they had the advantage of not coming up to my chin. I don't wear tops that are cut that low but loads of maternity bras would show at the neckline!

I eventually bought the Mirriam Stoppard one-size-fits-all stretchy maternity bras and vest tops with built in support. I know that with what are now F cups I should probably have more support but I was so squashed underneath in bras that I kept taking them off in the middle of the day so at least I have some support now.

Noooooo! I'm still wearing underwired, is it really bad for me? Why can't you wear them, I really didn't know this, can someone explain? Still squeezing into my wonderbras! xx

Apparently, they affect your milk ducts... BUT, there's no proof, it's more advice for the best results or something... I still wear underwear too though lol

My MW said that as long as they're not really tight and you wear one cup size bigger than you're measured to wear, it's ok!

Some intelligent noodle will reply with a really good reason for not wearing one now and will make me feel awful for still wearing one :( lol xx

i also have to confess. i hate maternity bra Sooooooo much, that i am mostly wearing a looser underwired bra which is soooo conforatble and doesn't dig in at all! the cup size fits perfectly. my mum wore underwires all through her pregnancies (back on the old days) and she has lovely gahooners still! hehe

Me too! She had NOTHING before and now she is a D and they look really natural! While I sit all evening on PF, she's on BreastForum giving advice and support! We're a right pair :rotfl: x

I had a look at maternity bras and thought :puke: so haven't brought any just brought underwire t-shirt type ones in bigger sizes. I was around 36D and now i'm a good 40DD to F and even there getting to small :x
(I brought some of them bra extenders from Kleenez i think - what a cheapsake)

Sorry Dannii but talk about top and tail :rotfl:

Heh, thanks everyone, you've all made me feel more normal :D

I may go out and buy a nice big underwired bra for use with lovely holiday tops next month ;)

I've always been annoyed with M&S measuring before so I'm not convinced they have me in the right size. I usually find that I am actually a cup bigger and 2 inches smaller when I've been measured elsewhere.

Dannii your comment about your Mum just reminded me, my Mum doesn't have a lot of boobage left after two kids so i better make the most of my porn star boobs at the moment :rotfl:

I hate maternity bras too, they're so unflattering. I think I've grown out of these too!

I went up a band size and two cup sizes (so far?).
