Question about baby's position

My husband and i were disussing how the baby lies in teh womb when it kicks around etc. Does it turn all the way around at this stage or does it stay head up until it turns towards the end? Mine is so active that im sure it is doing sumersaults but then someone said the movements are probably big kicks, punches and even head-butts but does not do a full turn. is this right? sorry for silly question!

Well mine was standing on its head at my 12 week scan the other day, so i assume that they can turn the whole way round.

Thats funny because DH and I were talking about that last night!

But you'd think if he/she kept turing round the umbilical cord would get all twisted and then stop working properly?

I think they do turn themselves round, especially in the earlier stages when they are smaller, at my scan last week she was on her head, with her back curled round my left side and her feet over to my right, & I think as they get bigger they turn round less but I don't know?!
