cant stop crying - baby and me!! :(:(

Yes colic can last all day. Its not just an evening thing. It often seems to occur in evenings but can happen anytime and last. And his cry is not an attention seeking cry. He's too young to have any concept of that. His crying is for a reason. Be it wanted a cuddle, being hungry, having wind...

cant stop crying - baby and me!! :(:(

You say you are winding him but nothing is coming up. I would think he has wind in there but can't get it out. Hence the fussing on and off your boob, the crying lots and so on. It all sounds like colic in a breastfed baby to me. All day crying is not right and I think it could well be colic as...

    Breastfeeding/colic/wind help.

I'd say it was the let down is more the thing. Once your supply settles down and LO learns how to cope with it he won't gulp so much. I used to literally flood my LO when feeding in the first 8 weeks or so  He would gulp and need winding often because of it. I had a really fast let down...

screaming baby - tummy cramps help

Sounds like colic. Infacol can take a few days to work and must be given before each feed. If breastfeeding. If formula then use Colief. Can be gotten on prescription otherwise its about £10 a bottle. Or something else, Dentinox or something, not sure. Nicki gives some good advice :)

Dropping Milk Feeds - Advice Needed Please

Galen dropped 3 or 4 feeds literally overnight. Daytime ones. But then started feeding more overnight. I was offering him his normal feeds as it were in the day. As to if he took them was another matter. Often he was just having a quick 2 minute feed and not a full one. Now we've sorted it a...

aiden has the cold - help?

What the others have said. We raised Galen's cot with a fair few Next and phone books. He was on a real slope. Also the old snot sucker can help. Nasal drops also good. Sometimes just holding him more upright to clear his nose will help. If he is really bad you can try him in his car seat or...

    bedtime breastmilk

She might not be a lazy feeder. The evening/bedtime feed is often a big one as baby fills up and this can take a while. Also making sure they get the full rich hind milk at the end of the feed. She is old enough to be doing this now so I'd let her feed from you at bedtime, not give an expressed...

    fluid intake and breastmilk

I drink water and try to have at least 6 glasses a day. No caffeine. No fizzy crap. Some juice but limit it. I don't count milk. But I drink at least one large glass of that a day also. And yes, if you do have days where you don't drink enough your breast milk supply can dip.

    What a change!

Yup, if it works then go back and ask for more. They should give it to you. If not then argue the toss till they give in. Glad to hear he is happier. Looks like you may have found the problem and the solution finally :) Make sure to read up on other things you can do to help with this and...

Safety wise, can't comment. Read up on your cars safety features and test ratings perhaps.

    car seats

Don't see why not, Volvo build these as standard into their estate cars. They fold down when not in use. As do a few other makes.

    Do you think...

I'll link to my reply to your post from another thread below. I explain myself there about why I don't give my son sugary foods. As to do I think it makes me a better parent, no I don't. I don't feel I am one up on anyone else. Its just my personal choice and my OH's also. And people who look...

    Out and about with EBM

I have two sections in my change bag for bottles with cool wrap stuff lining them. Also a detachable bottle holder that can fit an icepack. When I used to take EBM out with me I'd store it next to the ice pack in case it wasn't used so it was good for later. If you don't keep it chilled its...

Should I go for a planned C section given my 'situation'?

Ah our bodies are designed for this :) Usually a woman will have a baby suited to her body size. The size of the father has no impact on the size of baby at birth really as nature has a way of working so that the mothers size wins out in the labour stakes. Fathers genes kick in later ;) And...

    Buggies

The amount of people that use them is vast so I'd say people liked them. I personally don't like them so didn't get one. We got a 0-4 car seat from birth, stays in the car and then a pushchair with a lie flat pram for the first few months. As LO got a bit older we could tilt the lie flat pram...

    Chocolate, cake, biscuits

Yes I do but I don't add sugar to cereal, don't eat the sugar loaded stuff anyways, only F&F, Weetabix and porridge in our house, don't drink squash or fizzy drinks, nor add sugar to hot drinks. I eat cake or a pudding sometimes. And love the odd bar of chocolate. But I also like lots of fruit...

    Wide awake baby!

Ditto the above. My son was and stil is a power napper. He would sleep only about half an hour in a 12 hour period and then sleep for at most 2 hours at a time in the night. This changed a bit around 12-14 weeks and he slept a bit longer at night but he still hardly ever sleeps in the day...

Growth spurt? please God be nothing more thn a growth spurt!

Yup ditto what was said above, Feed lying down and he'll fill up and come off your boob when he is ready then. Much easier than faffing trying to settle him or hold him to feed.

    Chocolate, cake, biscuits

I've not given Galen anything with sugar in it. He has plain natural yogurt and if I want to add anything to it I puree down some fruit and mix in is all. He has Organix biscuits, plain water no squash or juice, fruit to sweeten his Weetabix, plain porrdige and home made rice pudding etc...

    Best time to express

In the morning when boobs are more full, after a shower and I've massaged my boobs to get them flowing. You express as much as you need/want/can get really. I used to express one boob totally, and get anything from 3-7 ozs, depending on time of day, how much if any LO had already fed from it...
