    Another health visitor visit...

Well I breast feed him but I give him his last feed as formula at 10 and he takes between 4 and 5 ounces. It rarely lasts him longer than 3 or 4 hours even on 5 oz! He seems to want to feed so much, I think he's gonna get really fat! x

    Another health visitor visit...

Finn put on nearly 2 pounds in 2 and a half weeks! I reckon he'll be about 10lb at his 6 week check, which is a lot considering he was only 6lb 7 when born! x

    Bath time help!

Finn cries when he comes out of the bath too. He loves being in there though. I guessed it was thè shock of getting out into the cold, even though his towel is warm it might take a couple of seconds for him to register that and maybe that sets him off. I don't know but it seems pretty common if...

    Gripe water

We put it in an empty teat from a bottle and just hold that up to his mouth, obviously you have to be careful not to spill it, but it works for us. He spat it out from the syringe but loves it in a teat! X

    Not sure what to do....

Finn is the same so i guess its normal hun, he eats soo much in the evenings. Between about 5pm and when I go to bed he non stop feeds, so now I have to give him a bottle at 10pm as I don't have enough breast milk to satisfy him overnight. I normally breast feed him and then give him 4 or 5 oz...

    Poo! Sorry :)

Thanks ladies! Nice to know my son is normal! It's just the constant painful straining that worried me, but if it's normal then I don't need to worry :) xx

    Poo! Sorry :)

Hi Just after some advice really. Finn poos quite a lot, probably 6 a day at least. The poos are always runny and yellow (like mustard). Finn is breast fed and I top up his 2 night feeds with 2oz formula per feed. I'm just wondering if anyone can advise if this is normal to still have such...

    hate waiting around !!

The midwife didn't give me a time for her post natal 5 day visit and she turned up just when I had visitors arriving at 10am! And health visitors rarely give you a time unfortunately. Soo annoying! x

    We braved it...

Gripe water is the only thing that works for Finn. Infacol didn't work and he spat dentinox out! x

    We braved it...

Finn usually only screams if he has trapped wind (or hungry!) could she have wind/colic? He has been very unsettled today, I try and put him in his crib after every feed usually, and he usually sleeps after most feeds but today he has just cried as he has such bad trapped wind. Could it be that? x

Had or are going to have an elective c-section?.. I need some advice please

I wanted a natural water birth but I ended up with a c section. I only got to experience early labour, and still have no idea what full blown labour or pushing feels like. It doesn't make me feel like a failure, but it does make me feel a bit strange that I have a baby but don't know what proper...

Combination feeding - going back to work

I have had lots of support from both the midwives and health visitor around combination feeding. They basically have said to do whatever works for you and as long as baby is happy and putting in weight then they will support your decision x

Combination feeding - going back to work

I am combination feeding at the moment. I tend to breast feed him during the day, and then at night I normally top up his breast feeds with 2 ounces of formula so that he sleeps for longer! The only advice I have is that if you are replacing one of your breast feeds with a formula feed, you...

    Manual or Electric Breast Pump?

It depends how much you are planning on expressing. Finn wouldn't latch on in the first week do I was expressing every feed for him. I tried the tommee tippee one, but didn't get on with it after I'd used the hospital's pump (it was amazing but unfortunately they're about £2000 to buy new!). I...

    Ironing

Goodness, no! It's too small to get that creased and he only wears baby grows and rompers. I hate ironing and try and get away with doing it as little as possible! x

    Baby weight

Wow you're lucky she'll sleep through! Finn wakes twice normally, so not too bad. Thè longest he'll go between feeds is 4 hours, at night he's no different. I am lucky that my supply had been good from the start, although in the evenings I struggle sometimes as he constantly wants to feed so we...

    Baby weight

Finn went down to 6lb 1 when he was 5 days old, but then by his next check (9 days later) he'd put on a whole pound! He's a greedy little thing considering he's so small! He'll take 4 ounces of expressed breast milk in one feed, which seems a lot but he guzzles it! x

    Mamas and papas sola pros/cons??

Yes! I love mine. It's so easy to push/steer, feels light when pushing around. It's also very easy to fold up/down, which is a plus for me as I don't like complicated things! I love the fact that it goes flat but can also be used as a pushchair. My son is nearly four weeks and always falls...
